JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN Street Department will begin making street repairs on Highland Ave. (U.S. Route 45) beginning Monday night, July 15, 2024.

“We’ve located approximately 50 areas on Highland Ave. that need repair,” said Public Works Director Austin Clark. “We’re asking the public to be patient with us as we work to make these necessary repairs for safer travels on the road.”

Crews will begin working nightly (pending weather) starting at 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. with plans to utilize multiple pieces of equipment including the new milling head to make longer lasing repairs to city streets. Intermittent lane closures will occur during these hours. Motorists are advised to drive carefully in these areas and obey all traffic signals and signs.

“Street repair is vital to the safety, accessibility, and overall well-being of our community and I am grateful to our Public Works and Street Department crews for their hard work in maintaining our roads,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “I would also like to thank the Tennessee Department of Transportation for granting us permission to make repairs to Highland Ave.”

Pothole repair will continue in the daytime hours throughout the city. Residents are encouraged to continue to use the Ready 3-1-1 app or calling dialing 3-1-1 to make reports for city services including pothole repair.
