The State of Tennessee Department of Health has approved and finalized a decision to grant the Jackson Animal Care Center a Certified Animal Control Agency for the first time since its inception. The initial approval was given in October of 2021 with the board voting to finalize the decision in December 2021.

The Arbitrator presiding over a long-running dispute between the City of Jackson and the Jackson Baseball Club LLC d/b/a The Jackson Generals has ruled in favor of the City. In a 22-page Award issued on November 8, 2021, the Arbitrator found the Generals breached their agreement with the City for use of The Ballpark and Stadium at Jackson and that the City therefore was within its rights in terminating that agreement in May this year.

Residents Will Begin to Receive Rolling Carts for Solid Waste Disposal This Summer

The new solid waste contract between the City of Jackson and Waste Management will begin August 1, 2021. The City is transitioning from backdoor pickup to curbside solid waste pickup and will be providing residents with 90-96 gallon rolling carts to collect waste.
