The South Precinct covers the areas south of North Parkway. There are 4 districts that comprise the South Precinct. Those districts are:

District 4: covers all areas within the city limits that are south of the South Fork Forked Deer River. That district includes the historical communities traditionally known as Bemis and Malesus.

District 5: covers the areas of historical East Jackson, south of Lane Ave., east to the city limits, south to the Fairgrounds, and west to North Highland Ave. That includes portions of downtown Jackson

District 6: covers the areas south of North Parkway, east to the city limits, west to North Highland and Campbell St and North of Lane Ave. Lane College, a historical institution of higher learning, is at the heart of this district.

District 7: covers the areas south of North Parkway, west of North Highland, south to the Fairgrounds, and west to the city limits. This area covers the historical Lambuth neighborhood, University of Memphis(Lambuth Campus), as well as portions of downtown Jackson that are west of North HIghland.
