Anti-Poverty Task Force
The City of Jackson Anti-Poverty Task Force was established in August 2019 to address poverty and other quality of life concerns in Jackson. The Task Force is composed of community members from nonprofit, education, housing, healthcare, recovery, and religious sectors. The Task Force is focused on bringing programmatic and policy solutions to the City of Jackson for reducing poverty and promoting quality of life for all Jacksonians.
After successfully launching several initiatives and programs, the Task Force voted to dissolve in August 2023. The mission of the Task Force will still be carried out by other boards and commissions focused on specific areas such as housing, childcare, and financial empowerment.
