City of Jackson, TN to host 3rd Annual Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration

Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson will celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a celebration ceremony on Friday, May 1, 2026.
“The City of Jackson honors and uplifts the vibrant contributions of our Asian American and Pacific Islander community," said Mayor Scott Conger. "Our city’s strength lies in its diversity, and by showcasing these incredible artists and stories at City Hall, we embrace the rich cultural tapestry that makes Jackson a wonderful place to live and work."
The celebration will include a proclamation reading by Mayor Scott Conger and presented to Dr. Mike Chua. Returning again this year will be musical performances by Jerie Joy Broadway and dance performances by Dr. Niveditha Prasanna and Navya Parashar.
This year, we also celebrate the AAPI art with a gallery from artists: Aarna Mehta, Avani Prasad, Vinita Kumari, Dr. Natasha Gupta, Jagruti Mehta, Ilianne Reese Lasu-ay, and Romar Matthew Lasu-ay.
