TerraCycle Solo Cup Challenge Brings Recycling Awareness to Jackson
Posted on 11/22/2022

JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson’s Health and Sanitation Department is will take part in the TerraCycle Solo Cup Challenge.

Through TerraCycle, Solo brand is bringing Jackson the opportunity to recycle any brand and size “#6” plastic party cups during the holidays for free.

To participate, just look for the “#6“ symbol on the bottom of the cup (any brand cup with the #6 symbol); collect them; give them a quick rinse; and stack and place them in any shipping box. Then, call or email our Recycling Coordinator for your free shipping label. There is no charge to ship.

“We are so thrilled to see these brands like Solo cup reaching out to help combat the plastic problem," said City of Jackson Recycling Coordinator Robin Chance. "During the holidays, most families get together and celebrate with food and fun, so they may see many of these cups during those times. Luckily, we have an avenue to help with this initiative. We're thankful to TerraCycle and Solo brand.”

If you don’t have a box, you can schedule to drop-off your cups at our Health and a Sanitation Department located at 180 Conalco Drive and we will ship them for you.
