Fire stations are strategically placed throughout the city in order to meet adequate response times to emergency situations. Station crews are assigned specific primary territories and back-up territories. Stations respond with each other to ensure that an adequate number of personnel on the scene arrive to handle any situation. If multiple calls come in simultaneously, equipment and personnel are shifted to other areas to maintain coverage for the entire city. Mutual aid understandings with police, sheriff, county fire, emergency management and EMS allows for adequate response regardless of the size or complexity of a situation.
