These are the wonderful people who have a passion for the pooches! They walk, exercise, bathe and help train the dogs in our program.
These are the folks that enjoy kitty cuddles and want to help us emotionally support the cats in our program by offering them positive human contact, grooming assistance, and playtime.
Clerical skills are a must for this volunteer position. We have limited staff and having to deal with all of the required paperwork slows down the process of getting animals adopted. Help with the “office stuff” is appreciated and vital to the success of the program. It involves answering the phone, acting as the first point of contact with the visiting public, filing, scheduling appointments, etc.
Fosters are the backbone of our program. We couldn’t function without them because there simply aren’t enough employees to give specialized care to every injured, ill or scared animal that needs it. Our fosters take animals into their homes to love on them, work with them and keep them safe until they are ready to move on to their forever home. We provide all needed support and assistance.
Every animal in the building must be photographed multiple times. On intake and then again once they’re available for adoption. Photography skills and the patience to get the perfect pose are what make people connect with a photo and want to adopt our animals.
Dogs and cats can’t drive but it’s a long walk to some of their appointments. Our Critter Cab volunteers help out by giving our animals a lift to local appointments and events.
Offsite event assistants are what make fundraisers and adoption events possible -- both of which are crucial to the function of the program.
